Kill the Trigger — the Habit Dies
#cues#friction
Want to drop a habit? Don’t rely on willpower. Remove the trigger.
A habit is a chain: trigger → impulse → action. If you’re fighting the action, you’re at the very end of the chain — by then it’s too late. Hit the beginning.
Endlessly scrolling? The trigger is the phone on the table. Remove it — the habit won’t fire because it has no spark.
Eating sweets in the kitchen? The trigger is the bag on the shelf. Take the bag away — the impulse will spark, but it has nothing to burn on.
Tip: pick one habit you want to drop. Identify its main trigger — and physically remove it. Not hide. Remove.
